With the key output of an article-by-article commentary on the 2015 World Anti-Doping Code, the project is unique in its ambitious scope and nature of the research undertaken. The project team will collect and analyze anti-doping case law that interprets and applies the 2015 Code, primarily those decisions published by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, as well as from various jurisdictions around the world. The goal is to create the first fully comprehensive resource for anti-doping practitioners, providing guidance along all steps of the doping control process. With topics ranging from signatory compliance to interpretation and application of the sanctioning regime, the commentary will assist the anti-doping movement in achieving a more effective implementation and harmonized interpretation of the 2015 Code. The commentary is planned to be released within the first year following the coming into force of the new 2015 Code in order to incorporate the early decisions and interpretations of the various new provisions. Funded in full by a grant from the Swiss National Science Fund, the project is headquartered within the sports law department at the University of Neuchâtel. The project team is headed by Professor Antonio Rigozzi, a lead practitioner and academic in the fields of sports, doping, and international arbitration.
